Run it with -NXShowAllWindows. Every time : you drag a card, etc, an offscreen buffer for the card is created, and the : card is drawn in it, but the buffer is never freed. Thus, the window server : grows and grows and grows. :( I haven't had time to fix this problem myself, : but I know that that is the problem. Well, maybe. I ran the program with -NXShowAllWindows (thanks for the tip, BTW) and I saw all the offscreen buffers, but I don't think they're the problem. Or at least if they ARE the problem it's a little more subtle than you think. A buffer is created for the image of the front side of each card the *first time* that the card is drawn. After that, the image is copied from that buffer each time the card is displayed. So, after a few hands no more offscreen buffers are being created because each card already has one. Is a new ONscreen buffer created for each card each time it is drawn (i.e. each time the offscreen buffer is copied to the display)? If so, could it be these buffers that aren't getting freed? I'm going to see if I can't get the cards to share buffers because there's no reason for every one of the fourteen identical RollViews to each have its own image cache. This should help but it still doesn't explain what the current problem is. (I have verified, BTW, that the Window Server does eat more and more VM as you play the game).
