I recommend the book, "Curves and Surfaces for Computer Aided Geometric Design" by Gerald Farin. It includes a section on just what the original poster wanted. The "killer B's" book (Bartels, Beatty, Barsky) is too full of the "blending function" nonsense. The Farin book gives a much more intuitive approach, better suited to non-math types. --J Gregory
