I tried mailing this, but I got back an error from my mailer: 554 rpomeroy@aunext3.cam.amd.com... Host aunext3 not known within the cam . amd . com domain Sorry for wasted bandwidth on what is essentially a personal response. I hope the information is of general relevance anyway. ======================================================================== In comp.sys.next.programmer article <1992Sep4.014007.7808@dvorak.amd.com> rpomeroy@aunext3.cam.amd.com wrote: > But, now you've got more work than you started with - just to test > (test being the keyword here) your interface. Yes, Palettes are compiled, but the temperature conversion algorithm is NOT one of the View object's methods. If you made a FahrenheitTextField with a "convertFromCelcius:sender" method, then the compiled Palette object could do what you want. We've slowly arrived at the conclusion that the more intelligence you build into the base objects, and the less you depend on application "glue", the better off you are. -- Gregory H.
