I am going to receive my NeXT in a week or so, and I know see from the postings that there is a good chance of getting 3.0 on the machine. I have already outlined the books I am going to order (the P.O.'s are written up), and they are for the 2.0 release books. (reference, developers guide, etc.) I am going to be jumping write in to developing an application (which is what the NeXT is for) and I am dreading getting 3.0 and manuals that are going to be of no use to me. Does anyone have any suggestions? I would love to wait an get the 3.0 docs when they come out, but I am not going to be able to wait that long before I have to be knee deep in programming. Are the 2.0 books going to be of any help at all with 3.0? Is the documentation on the system, like in the librarian so I can just bag the manuals and print them out and buy them when they get released? Also, is there any reference manuals available now for programming on the NeXT (info on the compiler, classes, general rules, etc.)? Thanks a lot, John Zollinger (a stressed programmer) sl05r@cc.usu.edu
