What's the proper way to implement the new-style Help in subprojects? The
only way I could figure out how to do it was to make a link in each of the
subproject English.lproj directories as follows:
cd myProject
ln -s ./English.lproj/Help ./one.subproj/English.lproj/Help
ln -s ./English.lproj/Help ./two.subproj/English.lproj/Help
ln -s ./English.lproj/Help ./three.subproj/English.lproj/Help
If I do not make those links, Interface Builder does not think there is
a Help directory associated with each of the subprojects. Thus, IB won't
let me assign any attachments to the help items.
There is very little documentation for implementing Help. In the file
/NextLibrary/Documentation/NextDev/DevTools/04_Edit/_AddingHelpLinks.rtf,
there is a line that states: "For information about adding a Help system
to an application you're developing, see Chapter 18." Of course, it
doesn't say what manual. I asked NeXT about this & their reply was simply
that the statement is a bug & they haven't heard from the documentation
folks as to whether or not there will be such a chapter. At least, I
didn't have to pay $225 for the answer. :-)
