Simple Sound Question

Can anyone point out why this does't make a sound? I suppose there is more to
it than these few lines, right?

@implementation MySound:Sound
- beep {
  const char *theName= "Tink.snd";
  [self setName:theName];
  [self play];
  return self;}
@end

I can use the SNDPlaySoundfile(path,priority) and that works.

Thanks to those who responded to my posting. The implementation I will be
using is simply:

 @implementation MySound:Sound
 - beep {
   [[Sound findSoundFor:"Tink"] play];
   return self;}
 @end
