Hi folks, may be a FAQ, but I can't find the answer: I would like to have some self-defined document icons, let's say for TIFF files in the File Viewer. Is it possible, to write a _very_ simple application only for overwriting the document-icon defined in Icon for TIFF? This is what I have done: * With IB: building a simple application with a self defined document icon for TIFF. * Installing the app in /LocalApps * deleting every other tool for TIFF (eg. Icon) --> The new document icon shows in the file viewer. That is fine, that is what I want! * reinstalling Icon. --> The old document icon (defined by Icon) appears again. That is not fine, that is not what I want! So, the first question with other words: Who knows about the strategy of the Workspace Manager for binding document icons to files? It it /NeXT/appcache? Is it the date of the application? Is it magic? Answers and hints are appreciated. TNX - Klaus BTW: I am using 2.1 :-( ******************************************************************* GMD Fokus (German National Research Institute for Computer Science) Klaus Hofrichter (Academic NeXT developer since 3.1990) Hardenbergplatz 2 D-1000 Berlin 12 E-Mail X.400 hofrichter@fokus.berlin.gmd.dbp.de E-Mail SMTP kho@fokus.gmd.de Voice +49 30 254 99 211 Fax +49 30 254 99 202 *******************************************************************
