I think all the needed infos are in Inside Mac vol I, IV and VI. I also have an other question : How can you find what's the type/creator of a mac file ? (Not specifically for the NeXT, but for UNIX in general.) No, I can't offer any FTP pointers off the top of my head--you might try asking in one of the comp.sys.mac.* newsgroups. >I also have an other question : >How can you find what's the type/creator of a mac file ? Maybe NeXT will support filename.#info# in a future release. (hint, hint) >And an other : >Why NeXT did not use the de facto standard of Apple Single/Apple Double ? Least effort? (But that still doesn't explain why they went with a variant on Plain Pair rather than Plain Triple.) (Something about never ascribing to malice what can be adequately explained by stupidity?) In any case, there are _multiple_ de facto standards, and NeXT should (at the very least) provide something like A/UX's fcnvt utility to convert between them. -=EPS=-
