Workspace icon animation

I've been trying to find information on how to make my program's icon in the
dock change images while it is running. For instance, when Mail received
mail, it pops up the letters, and NewsGrazer, etc... I have a need for that
feature, and the standard search in Librarian didn't turn anything up. I then
tried to find some sample code for it to no avail. I browsed the new
Workspace protocol for 3.0, is there a new special way to do this, or what is
the old way?

Thanks!

Get a hold of the Window object for the application tile (via [NXApp
appIcon]) and draw in its content view. Under 3.0 use the NXAppTile
image to assure that the standard look of the tile isn't destroyed.
Even if you are writing a 2.0 app, you should still do a findImageNamed:
on NXAppTile and use it if you find it; this assures that your app will
do the right thing under 3.0. If you don't find the image, then you can
just try to recreate the 2.0 look yourself (under 2.0 it was a much
simpler image).

The 3.0 AppKit release notes have more info about using NXAppTile.
