I recently installed Oracle 6 under NeXTSTEP3.0. First of all the installation software that handles the thousands of diskettes and messages with Installer doesn't work anymore. That wasn't a problem, Installer alone did it as well. But after running the installation script 'oracle.install' and checking that all the processes were running, I can only access Oracle from DBModeler when logged in as root. 'sqplus' never worked. What am I missing ... -Florian -- Florian A. Gutzwiller Phone: +41-61-281-8600 Open Systems AG Fax: +41-61-281-8603 Basel/Switzerland E-Mail: flog@open.ch (NeXT)

'sqplus' never worked. DBModeler is going to attempt to find tables owned by the current user login id unless you have done the appropriate dwrites to look for tables owned by "SYSTEM", "SYS" or any other user. Have you created additional oracle accounts?? Can you access oracle through sqldba or sql*plus?? If so, what accounts are you accessing oracle through? I do not know what tables DBModeler is going to try and read when logged in as root. Have you created additional tables under Oracle accounts??
