I am trying to detect whether an app is running on a color or monchrome station. I culd use a simple boolean function, if one is available, but I can't seem to find one. I've seen the - (NXScreen *)colorScreen method, but it returns the same thing as the mainScreen on a monochrome system. Thanks! - Andy McConnell

Rather than determining if you are on a color screen, use the -(BOOL)shouldDrawColor method in View; it's a lot more flexible. It will return YES or NO depending on whether the output device is capable of color. If drawing, it will tell you if the current window's depth limit is such that it can display color; if printing, it will tell you if the printer can do color. It works with dynamic-depth windows as well. Ali, Ali_Ozer@NeXT.com
