I recently placed an RTF post on the net titled "Coding Rules/Suggestions".
Since, as was pointed out to me, this kind of a post tends to be
confrontational, most respondents have emailed responses rather than posting
them.

If my posts (or even my email responses) sound confrontational due to their
terseness, I apologize. This was never my intention.

To explain more fully, my boss asked me to put together a list of NeXT coding
suggestions. Wishing to come up with the best possible list of suggestions in
the shortest period of time, I thought to draw on the expertise of the people
on the net. I also felt that everyone would (or could) benefit from the same,
even if their own opinion's differ. I don't really care to try and convince
anyone that my opinion on anything is better. I only wish to offer my opinions
and explain *why* they are my opinions-- and let each other person do the same.
Each person can then pick and choose on their own.

I have gotten some very good responses, some of which pointed out some
oversights in my original document and have been (or will be) incorporated in
the ongoing revision of the original document.

Upon request, I will NeXTmail anyone a copy of the latest revision of my
document. Keep in mind, however, that the document reflects my opinions only.
While I am already indebted to some of you in net-land for opening my eyes to
certain oversights, most simple differences of opinion will not be reflected in
my document (i.e., it will contain MY opinions, not YOURS).

This should be a learning experience, and not confrontational. I apologize if
it at any time sounded (or sounds) confrontational.
