How do I tell Librarian (or ixbuild) to generate description of ascii files. In 2.x you could have a <type>-desc file which would take one argument (the name of the file being indexed) and return a string which would be taken as the description for that file. Is this no longer possible in 3.0? --Felix

Put it under ~/Library/Services (or /LocalLibrary/Services) and name it <something>.service. Then logout and log back in (or enter "make_services" in a Terminal window). Filter: Port: NXUNIXSTDIO Send Type: NXTypedFilenamePboardType:<type> Return Type: IXFileDescriptionPboardType Executable: <path-name-to-desc-executable-filter> --Felix
