HELP: Detecting keyboard events?

I have a small programming problem that I can't seem to resolve. The
situation is similar to the Workspace - Mail combination of dragging and
dropping files. I have a window that's registered with the Workspace that
retrieves a filename, path, etc. when an icon is dragged over it.
However, I want to be able to detect keyboard events as well (e.g.,
Control, alternate, and shift keys held down) that occur (or have
occurred) when the icon is over the window. How do I go about getting
this information?

If anyone has examples or knows how to do this, I would appreciate it
immesurably if you would e-mail me some info.

-jason
