Does anyone know if RCS version 5.6 is going to be part of release 3.0 of NeXTStep or should I go ahead and port it. Don't want to do the work if its been done already! ---- Grant Munsey, Mainticore, Inc. (408)374-6044 grant@Manticore.COM, uunet!ub-gate!gouche!grant NeXTMail ok.

Don't want to do the work >if its been done already! >---- RCS 5.5 is available from the Purdue NeXT archives as part of the CVS (Concurrent Version System) package. Binary diffs are supported with the inclusion of a new version of diff, so NIB files, for instance, can be placed under version control. I'm not a version control expert and don't know what the improvements are in RCS 5.6 vs. 5.5, but CVS seems like an improvement over RCS since concurrent file check-outs are permitted. -- Art Isbell Cubic Solutions NeXT Registered Developer NeXT software development and consulting Email: isbell@cats.UCSC.EDU Voice: (408)335-1154 USmail: 95018-9442 Fax: (408)335-2515
