I am running 3.0 on a NeXTstation Color with 16Mb of RAM, and I am quite
happy with the performance. I notice a little more swapping on the disk,
but other than that, the performance seems very nearly the same as 2.1 on
a mono with 20Mb of RAM that I used. The compressed swapping seems to be
faster than the normal swapping. I think the big difference is that I did
not use the Installer application. I booted from the CD-ROM drive and it
rebuilt my main disk. All the applications (Librarian, Mail, etc.) work
fine, unlike what I have heard about from people who have used the
installer. I also set nbuf=64, which seems to make some difference.
