TeX problem

Help!

Something has gone wrong with my TeX/dvips installation.

Files processed with latex are not being printed or previewed
correctly...instead of the normal words I am getting multiple
repetitions of a single character. The right number of
characters per word appears, but a different character gets
repeated depending on the font size.

I completely reinstalled TeX from the Install_TeX script, but
it has not fixed the problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks.
