I am looking for a "good" way to connect to an IBM. Today we have a Micom gateway which is accessed by async from a VAX which is accessed from a VT100 emulator on the Sun, also via async. We have a TN3270 tool which works most of the time. The Sun 3270 gateway product isn't the right answer not only becuase it costs so much but also because it emulates the gateway (which we already have in the Micon hardware). The Telnet emulator at least allows a direct connection over the ethernet instead of async.
