: >2. does the ~t command work, or doesn't it ? (After issuing this command, I had to remove tip from memory, didn't do anything
: >at all anymore)
: Works just fine for me..... EXCEPT in one case. I've found that if running
: tcsh on both the remote NeXT and my local NeXT that ~t has problems. This
: is actually related, distantly, to the above problem. It's because control-A
: seems to be improperly mapped in the keybindings. I've never determined a
: workaround (and have posted asking for help). But ~t works fine from Suns,
: Decs, etc. It also works fine if you run just plain old csh on one of the
: machines (the remote one is better) so before doing a ~t just type
: /bin/csh

Wow! good guess, I use tcsh on my local machine, but I have a .tiprc with SHELL=/bin/sh for z-modem sessions, AND I use tcsh
on the remote DEC-System as well. I'll try it with csh, could really be the problem!

: >3. how to get a proper end of ~<-transmission under UNIX (cat some.text; echo ^A doesn't work)
:
: Not sure what you mean here...... Are you trying to use tip to transfer binary
: files? That's a NO NO. uuencode the file first, then do the transfer. If
: taht's not what you mean I'll need more specific examples.

Do you take me for an idiot ? Ofcourse not, I try often to get down some large NeXT-Mails, because UUCP is limited to 64kB
per Message, on those files ARE uuenocded, so what for encode them again ? just for fun or what, but with a MNP-Connection, I
wouldn't need any kind of protocol, so just take it down, it's the fastest way (up to 1100 Bytes/s instead of 840)

:
: >4. Is there a descrpition of cu and .tiprc ?
: uh.... see "man tip" for most anything that's relevant.

hmpf, may I quote ?:
>BUGS
> The full set of variables is undocumented...
(Your manpages concerning tip)

:
: >5. How to resume a tip connection (modem still online, but tip is terminated) ?
:
: You got me here. I don't think it's possible.

I managed, to get on the serial line again, but I received just rubbish, something with parity/speed/databits went wront I
guess...
