The point of overlap between Stuart2.4 and Engage, AltDock, and other programs that have caused this problem is that they request file icons from the Workspace. I have also heard on one of these groups that this _is_ the problem (ie, any autolaunched program requesting icons will cause the floppy eject problems). So, perhaps if you turn off Stuart's Shelf feature, it'll work (albeit not as nicely). Unfortunately, I cannot offhand think of something you could do to Engage or any other program to fix this, as most of those other programs _live_ to do the file icon thing ... Has anyone heard anything regarding fixes from NeXT? This is a pretty major little bug, and could affect a _wide_ variety of programs. Well worth an NS3.0a :-). On the other hand, anyone know of anything a mere mortal like myself could do to cause my programs not to invoke this behaviour? Is the problem precisely "autolaunched programs that request file icons", or is it "programs that request file icons before XXXXXX occurs"? If it's something where I could wait until a certain point and _then_ request the icons, I can make that modification ...
