Logitech driver for NeXT?

Does anyone know of a driver for the Logitech hand-held scanners
which works on the NeXT? I have no idea how difficult it would be
to emulate the Logitech IO card in software--all I know is that the
scanner itself has a din 8 plug, and could thus theoretically fit in
a NeXT serial port. I will, of course, be ecstatic if someone has
already written such a driver, but barring that possibility, would
look into writing one myself. Pointers?
