Little known fact about homedir icons & question

In 3.0 (perhaps in 2.1 and 2.2, but I don't recall seeing it), what
determines whether you see the two houses (for someone else's homedir)
or a folder (regular subdirectory) is the setting of "Large File
System" in your Preferences (accessible via Preferences.app). Why not
see the two houses regardless of this setting? I am probably not
understanding some GUI idea but I don't know what.

While trying to answer this question myself, I went into the 3.0 help
for Preferences and typed "large file system" and then hit return.
What a big mistake. It's been 5 minutes since I hit return and the
cursor is still spinning. Perhaps the indexer will work in 3.1?

Thanks.
