I'm doing a lot of OCR work with Macs and then transfering files to my Next to work on. These files are in French and Italian (accent marks!). Now, I save the Mac files as ascii, WriteNow format and rtf format, but NONE of these seem to retain the ACCENT marks correctly. The best I can do is save as Mac rtf, open the rtf file with Next Edit, and then cut and paste into Next WriteNow. I have tried Mac WriteNow 2.2 and 3.0. This is a bad situation, and if I can't correct it it means I can't move files from Mac to Next, at least without a hell of a lot of proofreading I shouldn't have to do. I DO have MacTranslators (DataViz) so I am tempted to save the Mac files in some DOS version before transferring them to the Next, but haven't yet tried. RTF on the Next seems proprietary!!! Does anyone know of a fixit for this problem? It's crazy! Thanks Robert rdelucca@rosemary.uucp.jhu.edu
