Illustrator 3.0.1 users?

I'm due to receive Adobe Illustrator 3.0.1 for the NeXT as a Christmas gift,
and am anticipating a problem: I don't have 3.0 yet, and haven't really
needed to pursue it until recently. Will this version run under 2.1 (a little
bit? at all? none?)?

Next obvious question: regardless of the Illustrator situation, I'm
interested in purchasing and installing 3.0. Assuming that I buy a SCSI to
SCSI-2 cable (from NeXT?) and find a CD-ROM drive to borrow for the
installation, I still need to know how and where to get the CD-ROM itself and
whether or not my disk-space-starved NeXTstation mono will hold 3.0 to begin
with.

Is there any such thing as a student discount for 3.0?

Thanks,

Eric
