Oxyd installation?

I've downloaded Oxyd, first release, from sonata. The notes 
say I must start the app from root the first time, after having
renamed it Oxyd_3.0.app for 3.0. 
I have done this, but it will not start, informing that I am not
logged in as root. I am.

I have also tried chown and chmod as root. No go. 

Has anyone succeeded in starting this App?
