I feel obliged to suggest you at least take a look at Tesseract, which is  
currently available as a beta release, v0.91, on an archive site near you.   
Since it is not yet completely finished, and I wanted to get some feedback,  
I'ts available at a reduced price until the v1.0 ships (in a month or two).   
There's information in the info panel on how to obtain a license.

The one thing that it has over the other 3D apps I've seen is the ability to  
do complex animations, as well as animate shaders.
