Awhile back I read an article that described a research project that asked, "What's the most efficient way to do regular typing using only a mouse?" The answer used a scheme where that most recent few characters are used to predict the next few. The predictions are presented in a window, and the user clicks on the one (or a part of one) that is correct. That way, the user can get as many as ten or fifteen characters typed per mouse click. I know that sounds pretty bizarre. You had to be there 8-) Has anyone seen or heard of such a system for the NeXT, either product, demo, or prototype? I believe there is a commercial version for Mac. Anyone know its name? thanks
