AURORA SOFTWARE ANNOUNCES THE FIRST SOFTWARE SWEEPSTAKES!

MADISON, WI --- July 23, 1992 --- Aurora Software announced today that it
will sponsor the first software sweepstakes in an effort to promote user
interest in NeXTSTEP(TM) utility software.

"All too often users overlook the benefits offered by utility programs,
when in fact the price/performance ratio for utility programs is much more
favorable than that of large-scale applications," said Victor Barger,
president of Aurora Software.  "Corporate users are aware of this.  What
we need to do is convey this information to the individual user as well."

Because utility programs are used on a day-to-day basis, the time savings
they produce translate directly into enormous productivity gains.
Furthermore, utility programs do not exhibit the steep learning curves
associated with using more complex applications.  The end result is an
inexpensive means to increase productivity.

When asked what effect he expects the software sweepstakes to have,
Barger responded, "We aim to generate excitement in the NeXTSTEP software
arena and promote widespread use of utility programs.  I expect the software
sweepstakes to do just that."

To enter the software sweepstakes, hand-print your name and mailing
address on a piece of paper, sign and mail before October 30, 1992 to
Aurora Software, ATTN: Software Sweepstakes.  By entering the software
sweepstakes you agree to the Software Sweepstakes Official Rules.  To
receive a copy of the official rules, send a stamped, self-addressed
envelope to Aurora Software, ATTN: Software Sweepstakes Official Rules.

1. To enter, hand-print your name and mailing address on a sheet of paper,
sign and mail before October 30, 1992 to Aurora Software, ATTN: Software
Sweepstakes, 16 N Allen St, Madison, WI  53705.  All entries must be received
by October 30, 1992; limit one entry per person, one entry per envelope.
By entering this sweepstakes you agree to the Software Sweepstakes Official
Rules and certify that you are 18 years of age or older and a U.S. resident.
Aurora Software is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, incomplete,
damaged, or misdirected mail.  All entries become the property of Aurora
Software and none will be returned.  2. A random drawing will be conducted
by Aurora Software from all completed entries using computer generated random
numbers.  All decisions relating to this sweepstakes are final.  Winner will
be notified by certified mail.  3. A maximum of fifty (50) prizes will be
awarded of a free single-user license to QuickStart(TM), with no more than
one (1) prize per every fifty (50) entries.  Approximate retail value: $19.95.
The prize will be delivered by U.S. mail.  Any federal, state or local taxes
are the sole responsibility of the winners.  Prize substitutions or transfers
not allowed.  The selected prizes are guaranteed to be awarded.  By entering,
winner agrees that Aurora Software shall have no liability in connection with
the acceptance, operation or use of the prize awarded.  Aurora Software makes
no express warranty, guarantee, or representation of any kind concerning the
prizes and disclaims any implied warranties.  4. Winners will be required to
sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and a liability/publicity release
within 21 days of prize notification (first attempted certified mail delivery)
or an alternate winner will be selected.  By entering, winners agree to the
use of his/her name and/or likeness in connection with promotional activities
or advertising relating to the sweepstakes without further notification,
permission or compensation, except where prohibited by law.  5. Employees of
AURORA SOFTWARE and its affiliates and their immediate families are not
