I placed a new version of my mailforward program on sonata.cc.purdue.edu
as pub/next/submissions/mailforward1.2.tar.Z. Mailforward is a perl script
(so you need perl) that you invoke from your .forward file. It lets you
match regular expressions in the headers of incoming mail messages, and
place the messages directly in various NeXT mail mailboxes based on these
headers. For example, I'm on several mailing lists, and I want mail from
each list automatically to go into an appropriate mailbox, so I don't have
to do it manually. Mailforward does this for me, and it knows how to
unpack NeXT mail too.

One user said he likes to use MH for standard mail, and Mail.app only for
NeXT mail. By matching the Next-Attachment: header, you can use
mailforward automatically to incorporate NeXT mail into your Active.mbox
(or whatever), and leave standard mail in /usr/spool/mail.

The differences from the first release are these: it now preserves the
size and location of your mailbox windows (this is the big reason to
upgrade), and it's better about error handling and file locking. As
before, there is an accompanying document file, index_files.rtf, that
documents the format of the table_of_contents files. This now contains
information (contributed by several net.people) about the header fields
that contain window information.
