Hi Guys,

I received very helpful replies for the question that
I posted in article 832. I finally got things to work in
the following way:

1] The internal drive was labelled as swapdisk and
the swapfile is located on it.

2] The internal drive can also be the boot device when
      the external drive is down.

3] Then external drive can be both the boot and swap
device when internal drive is down.

To achieve the above, I performed the following:

1] Labeled the internal drive as, swapdisk, using the
      "disk -L" command.

2] Edited the fstab file on the external drive so that
the internal drive is not referenced.

3] Edited the swaptab file on the external drive to
      remove any entry in there.

4] Edited the rc.swap file on the external drive to
      remove /private/swapdisk/tmp if it's a symbolic
link, before making sure it's a directory, etc.

5] Edited the fstab file on internal drive so that
the external dirve is not referenced.

6] Edited the rc.swap file on the internal drive
so that the /tmp to /private/tmp symbolic
link is always setup even a swapdisk if found
and that the logic for setting up swapdisk
      is commented out.

7] I tested the above setup when booting from
external drive with swapping to internal drive,
when booting from internal drive with external
drive powered off, and switchings between the
      previous cases.

For each case, I verified that swapfile was
created correctly, /tmp directory was pointing to
the correct place, and the swapping was not causing
      problems.
