maybe follow up to comp.os.mach In article <1992Aug25.233513.20716@almserv.uucp> rmcghee@fnma.com writes: >Anybody heard any rumors about DOS and Windows compatibility modes for >NeXTStep 486? I know that Mach supports multiple personality OSes as >subsystems--could it be that NeXT is going to support DOS this way? There is already a DOS server available for Mach 3.0 running on a 386/486, I wouldnt be surprised if either NeXT, the net, or a commercial house picked it up and polished it up for a "real" product. It's pretty rough (takes over the screen) but I do know people who use it on a PC running Mach 3.0. I'd wait until NeXT moves NeXTSTEP to Mach 3.0ish before its gonna happen tho (they are 2.6ish still with NS 3.0) Believe it...or not... la la la, -- :: Christopher Lloyd :: a74k110@titan.ucc.umass.edu :: Yrrid, Inc. :: ::"He said he'd make me elite for $5...I think he wanted a sub or somethin'"::
