I've become more than a little bit frustrated with our friend, ixBuild. All I
want to do is something like

ixBuild -d basename

But the -d switch doesn't seem to do what the man file claims.. It doesn't send
any parameters of value, most notably not the name of the file being
processed..

-r doesn't seem to work either.. I try to send it a list like

pathname descriptor\n
pathname descriptor\n

And it worked on the first filename, and then failed on the second line: it
thought that I meant "pathname descriptor" as the pathname.. (I.e. it didn't
recognize the white space in the second line).

Is anyone following me? What the heck is going on? Should I just give up on
ixBuild as a lousy program that was never debugged except to the extent that
the Digital Librarian interface needed it, or am I just missing something? Who
has used this successfully? My goal is to use it with Gopher, if that sparks
anyone's memories..
