Metrosoft ships MetroTools 1.2 for NeXTSTEP 3.0

San Diego, October 28, 1992 - Metrosoft announced today that a free  
upgrade for all registered owners of MetroTools is available. The new  
version is specific to NeXTSTEP 3.0 and is the first utilities package to  
enhance the new operating system release from NeXT. 

Some key new features:

* Mac fonts are converted and installed easier then ever by
  using NeXTSTEP 3.0 to read Mac floppies. MetroTools is the
  first utility to directly read Macintosh resource forks using
  NeXTSTEP 3.0.

* NiteLite has more modules: 
  - A setting that allows random or sequential playing of
    multiple NiteLite modules
  - Scribble: user-configurable scribbling on your screen

* Application Launcher the most extensive and configurable
  launcher available for NeXTSTEP has been made even better
  for NeXTSTEP 3.0:
     - Launches without icons showing up in the Workspace
     - Holding down the command key while dropping a document
       onto an application tile opens it in that application
     - Holding down the Alternate key while launching an
       application launches an additional copy
     - Has new color tiles on color machines to match the
       NEXTSTEP 3.0 look
     - Avoids the NeXTSTEP 3.0 "Disk Eject" bug

* For people developing custom tools, the new version takes
  advantage of new NeXTSTEP 3.0 capabilities while maintaining
  full compatibility with older MetroTools modules. The API
  makes it even easier to develop MetroTools modules while
  remaining fully compatible with previous releases.
