I sat down to play a game of /NextDeveloper/Demos/Chess last night, and I noticed that the 2 human player feature seems to be broken. The white player moves as normal, but the computer moves for black, even though black is set to be a human player. When I tried to move a black piece, I got an "Illegal move" message, a couple of pawns disappeared, and my knights changed position. That was on a 3.0 machine. I tried it this morning on a 2.2 machine and the same thing happened. "This is not a Good Thing," I said. Human vs. computer seems to work fine. Please tell me that I'm missing something, and not that a big ol' bug has escaped 3 major revisions of NeXTSTEP. Okay, maybe it's not important to everyone, but it's important to me. Okay, maybe it's not important to > everyone, but it's important to me. Yes, its true. And, if you keep playing for a while, you'll notice many other weird things that happen, in certain circumstances. Like pieces flying all over the board! Maybe that's how they programmed it to resign...;) Actually, it uses an old version of gnuchess too...I've looked at the code, but haven't had the energy to fix it..I wish someone would so that I can play over a few games of Fischer-Spassky II...
