simple terminal emulation?

Hello,

I am looking for a simple terminal program that will allow
for vt100, TTY and ANSI emulation... just something simple
for calling BBS's.... and I don't want to buy MicroPhone
because it is so expensive....

Also, if I can't find one, I may write my own, but is there a
set of serial port objects out there that would mke this a tad
easier??

You should be able to use the system "tip" command
from a Terminal window.  "tip" does the async communication;
Terminal handles the vt100 emulation.

If you want to work on your own, you can get the
source code for "tip" and "tipx" from ftp.uu.net.

Kermit should work fine. I cannot name an archive site, but maybe
someone else will.
