Fonts in .ps files

I remember reading somewhere (maybe it was the prelim MeXT docs for 3.0)
that when you print to a .ps file in NeXTSTEP 3.0, it will embed any
"non-standard" fonts in the .ps file. That way you don't have to worry
about what fonts a recipient of the file might have installed on their
system.

I haven't been able to get this to work. Has anyone?

Gordon

In the standard print panel, choose the Save button. When the save
panel appears there is a pop-up menu at the bottom which defaults to
"Normal device independent PostScript". Change this to the thrid
item, "Chosen Printer/Include fonts". This will include your fonts
used inline in the PostScript file. Keep in mind that this can
increase the file size many times over, depending on how many fonts
you have used in your document.

I've used this feature from Appsoft Draw, and I assume that it works with other
applications. Be sure to set "Chosen Printer/Include Fonts" from the pull-down
Save menu. You also have to install the "chosen printer", and chose it. It
all worked fine for me. (I produced a figure that a friend of mine printed out
on his color printer; he didn't have the same fonts I did, so I had to include
them using this method.)

How do you install a printer if you don't own a printer? I'd like to
dump the Postscript fonts along with my document so that I can print
the document on a Postscript printer at school. I browsed through the
on-line documentation and didn't find the references needed. When I
try the 'chosen printer/Include Fonts' option it remains
un-highlighted so I can't invoke it.

Thanks,

Shane
