Recently, every time I save a file to a dos diskette, my NeXT harps back that the filename is too long (which seems to mean more than 5 characters!). Is there something I'm missing??? This used to always work. -- Lones A. Smith Department of Economics MIT E52-252C Cambridge MA 02139 v-mail: (617) 253-0914 e-mail: lones@lones.mit.edu (NeXT mail or the garden variety stuff)

None of the automatic conversion and truncation that 2.1 used to do. I have also noticed that installer won't recognise files that are on a DOS disk (SoftPC was distributed as a .pkg on DOS format disks).
