X Software

I'm gonna have to get into X, which I don't know much about.
I see an intriguing ad for Cub' X-window, and I've heard of
Co-Xist, etc. If someone wouldn't mind taking the time, I'd
like to have some idea of how the various X software
packages that run on NeXTs compare, great features, fatal
flaws, etc.

In the time-honored tradition, I will summarize if the
response warrants it.

Jess,

We've implemented the McGill X package over here on our Mono Nextstations.
I've been able to generate Xwindows on other Xclient machines. However,
not all the software I use runs clean - Xv being one example. I can't
tell you a lot more, since I use another machine for my primary Xwindows
environment, however I can recommend the McGill X distribution as one
which works for me for basic things. Stop on over if you wanna take
a look, or FTP it from your favorite site.
