login window won't appear

I'm having a problem with my NeXT cube 2.1. When I power up my cube
the system goes through all the system test but does'nt give me a
login panel?
I have tried copying usr/lib/NextStep from my original disk but this
does not work. Any suggestions? I'm clueless. Oh yeah I also tried
booting in single user mode and this works fine.

I got the same prob with a connected deskjet. I turned on the
dj and the loginwindow appeared. I think that u probably got
something in your printerqueue.
