KPerfmon and DrivePerformance

I just downloaded KPerfmon.Z and DrivePerformance.Z

These are not executable and I would guess that I need
to compile or assemble them. Exactly how do I get them
to run.

Thanks,

Greg

You have to "uncompress" them. The .Z extention denotes a "compressed"
file. Then they should run fine.

To uncompress them type: uncompress KPerfmon.Z
			 uncompress DrivePerformance.Z

Thanks to all who replied on this question.

Many people simply suggested uncompressing or
uncompressing and untar-ing the two files.

I had already uncompressed the files and they
were not tarred. But, they appeared as text files
in the viewer.

I have not tried it yet but the correct solution
appears to be simply changing the permissions
on the file to allow it to be executed. This can
be done in the inspector or with chmod on the command
line.

They were simply compressed pather than tar'ed. Compress does not
save the file rights, so you have to make them executable.
