I'm helping a colleague in my office purchase a 486 PC to run NeXTSTEP in
color, through our university purchasing system and they are attempting to
get information from NeXT regarding the system requirements before they
send the PC order through. They are having a very difficult time getting
any information about hardware requirements but were told that the
software was delayed until Quarter 3.

I am doing the same thing for a client at a large engineering firm, only
the Intel machine is a notebook. The only thing NeXT will admit to is that
NS486 runs well with Dell and Compaq, with either the new Dell/Intel video
card and with a C&T Wingine. The system engineer I spoke with said that
the goal is to get NS486 to run on all popular flavors of PCs.

But this is all old news. I did hear from this same engineer that it
should be out Q2, not Q3. But then everything slips, doesn't it.
