In terms of a performance issue, it is better to have more or less NFS mount
points to/from various servers?
Example,
In our cluster, we have dual servers, both providing various user and
application partitions. Server1 has our commercial apps, client space for
Netboot clients, User space and pd software.
Server2 has User partitions plus various other directories:
Server1 Server2
/LocalApp /User
/PublicApp /User2
/User /General_stuff
/client /client
Would it be better to do:
1) Single mount points for each server, i.e., /Server1Mount and
/Server2Mount and then link everything over
or
2) Separate mount points for each of the exported directories/partitions
Currently we are undertaking a mixture of 1 and 2 and we would like to make
our NFS services more efficient. The problem with (1) is that it is harder
to manage.
Suggestions???
