Or know how even if you don't have the old posts? In my opinion, the only way to do this cleanproperly is to use a correct (sorry .. actual) SENDMAIL like IDA. Then, you can alias in and out. (ie: when I write mail, the From field is transform to <MY_LOGIN> in Jean-Michel.Planche .. The second interesting thing is that you can hide your machine name.
