We are having problems booting one of our NeXTStations. It stops during
the boot process when "Checking System Disk" is displayed in the
message box.

The problem is not consistent, in that it boots up roughly 40% of the
time.

If the cpu does hang, and we try rebooting a few more times (via
command-command-~) we can successfully boot the machine. (after
a few tries)

When we bootup with the monitor screen up, we've had two things happen:

1. the error message "unexpected kernal page fault failure" 
2. panic: (Cpu 0) MMU invalid descriptor during table walk

I would venture to "guess" that the kernal has gone bad, and we have to
rebuild the hard drive, but then again, I'm no NeXT god. Any ideas?
