I'm one of the administrators of our computet center. We have a hostful of workstations, including NeXT, Sun, and IRIS. Recently we have a debate on this topic. My point is that raise the temperature up to 25 degree C (72 F) is good for 1. human body health 2. saving energy. Their point is simple: Cold (around 22 C (67 F) or lower) is good for machines. I know that workstations need special care. There's a specification table saying its (possible) working temperature range. But I need to know what is best for them, and what is reasonable.
