Look at ftp.cc.berkeley.edu:pub/popper/popper-1.831beta.tar.Z Despite the name, this is no longer "beta" software--it's the final release, as explained in the companion README.release file. It works fine under 2.x (remember to add -bsd to CFLAGS in the Makefile)--I haven't tried compiling under the heinous/vile 3.0. We made some minor changes locally (e.g. bailing out if /etc/nologin exists), but it's certainly usable out-of-the-box. + niload into services: pop-3 110/tcp pop3 + add to /etc/inetd.conf: pop3 stream tcp nowait root /your/path/to/popper popper + add to /etc/syslog.conf: local0.notice;local0.debug /your/path/to/logfile + touch that file + send SIGHUPs to both syslogd and inetd (or reboot) -=EPS=- -- Still eagerly awaiting 3.1. :-)
