timed powerup of Next slab doesn't work

I have a NeXT slab 21" color.  I tried to use the Timed
Power up option in the preferences and it doesn't seem
to work.

This is perhaps a FAQ, but any help would be appreciated.
(I'm using V2.1)

You're certainly welcome to post here, but I'd prefer
