I just changed the buffers in the ROM monitor using sd- nbu=64, and return at all other questions. The procedure was: I su'd to root, did a "shutdown now" command, 2. I did: # sync # sync # halt 3. t ROM prompt I did "p" and put in the sd- nbu=64 4. Did not change other params When I logged in as root, I got "WorkSpace Manager error" I CAN log into my account. I put the buffers back to default with no result - the boot process was fine, but cannot log in as root. I tried sd -nbuf=64 - again, worked fine, but cannot go into root. I AM using the right password, and CAN su to root from my account. Thanks for any help. Followup-To: Distribution: Organization: HAC - Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore Keywords:
