Strange behavior from Mail.app, release 3.0: A friend of mine, who uses a non NeXT machine, keeps getting read receipts when he sends me e-mail. After some investigation, it seems that his machine name--starry--is the culprit. It seems that Mail.app requests a read receipt by including a 'RR' in the outgoing header: 'Received: by NeXT.Mailer (1.87.1.RR)' -- send a receipt 'Received: by NeXT Mailer (1.87.1)' -- don't Here's the header that his machine attaches: Received: by Starry.Stanford.EDU (4.1/25-STARRY-eef) id AA23466; Wed, 14 Oct 92 16:35:12 PDT Notice the 'RR' in 'STARRY'. Hmm. My guess is that Mail.app is doing a poor job of parsing its receipt requests. Has anyone else seen this problem? Does anyone have a suggested fix? Scott
