I've just been advised by a NeXT SE that the inability of 3.0 to eject/init floppies  
(and, on my machine, opticals and CDs) is a bug INTRODUCED between PR2 and the final  
release. Ugh.

Use /etc/disk.

Anyone else know a fix or workaround?
